job description

HR partners by Randstad are excited to be partnering with a global organisation based in Macquarie Park seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior HR Manager to lead their HR team in ANZ. As part of our HR Shared Services team, you will drive the implementation and execution of HR programs, ensuring compliance, and providing crucial consultative support to the Country Manager and teams. This role will suit a leader passionate about fostering a positive and compliant workplace, with an opportunity to make a significant impact!

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and programs (Compensation, Benefits, Recruitment, L&D, Engagement, etc.) in compliance with company values and local labor laws.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to evaluate business needs and implement HR programs effectively.
  • Address diverse HR concerns, providing sound judgment and equitable solutions.
  • Manage investigations and ensure fair treatment of employees.
  • Support union contract application and negotiations (if applicable).
  • Oversee the appeals process.
  • Continuously improve HR procedures, SOPs, and SLAs.
  • Utilise data and metrics to identify trends and proactively address HR issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment and labor practices.
  • Manage team performance, hiring, retention, and development.
  • Handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Drive DEI initiatives and employee engagement activities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for investigations and compliance reporting (e.g., Workplace Gender Equality, Unfair Dismissal, Workers Compensation).

What You'll Bring:

  • 8-10+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong understanding of Australian employment law and HR programs.
  • 3+ years of direct managerial experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English).
  • Competence in HR software applications (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong business acumen, commitment to confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Some minimal travel requirements.
  • Industry experience in a mixed workforce with unions ideally in industries as medical, health care, FMCG, manufacturing.
