HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for an Organisational Development Specialist to join Logan City Council. The purpose of this role is to develop, implement and coordinate initiatives that contribute to enhancing individual, team and organisational capabilities and culture for the effective delivery of the functional and strategic outcomes required by the organisation. This role ensures project outcomes are met by leading, managing and facilitating change and training activities to bring the initiatives to life. Support senior leaders to own their responsibilities in leading and embedding changes successfully in the organisation.


About the role:

  • Anticipate, analyse and interpret client directorates’ people management needs relative to the strategic organisational development initiatives to be implemented in their areas.
  • Partner with the Organisational Development Consultant on design and delivery of organisational development initiatives, ensuring alignment with Council’s Corporate Plan and objectives.
  • Take a lead role in facilitation of implementation and measurement of initiatives. Provide leadership coaching to Council-wide leaders as part of implementation of initiatives.
  • Design and facilitate workshops, focus groups and team meetings, and deliver engaging presentations to senior leaders including the Collective Leadership Team.
  • Undertake regular analysis of Organisational Development research and trends to inform contemporary people strategy, program and project initiatives for Council.
  • Facilitate the development and provision of business relevant OD interventions including policy application and interpretation.
  • Design and deliver change, communication and engagement plans that enable the effective implementation and adoption of organisational development initiatives across Council.
  • Ensure the effective integration of organisational development initiatives with other People and Culture projects.
  • Consult with stakeholders to understand their engagement and learning needs as they relate to organisational development initiatives. Translate needs into change and implementation plans working with internal and external providers to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Prepare accurate and engaging written reports, presentations and communications for organisational development initiatives in liaison with Organisational Development Consultants or Organisational Development Program Leader.
  • Respond to opportunities to improve the efficiency of current service delivery by promoting mechanisms to encourage customer feedback for continuous improvement of People and Culture services.

About the individual:

  • Degree qualifications in Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, Human Resources or a related discipline and/or extensive demonstrable experience in delivering a wide variety of complex organisational people management services (preferably in a large multi-disciplinary organisation).
  • Change Management qualifications and/or experience will also be highly beneficial to this position.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide specialist expertise, advice, coaching and change management across a project lifecylce with our employees as end-user in mind.
  • Demonstrated project experience across projects that range the employment lifecycle which includes, but is not limited to, employee engagement, change management, workforce planning, performance management, reward and recognition and employee value proposition.
  • Well-developed knowledge and extensive practical experience as an OD Professional or Change Manager with experience in delivering quality business focussed services to stakeholders and advising on a broad range of complex people management issues.
  • The ability to seek/source relevant facts/information, analyse issues from different perspectives and present recommendations, proposals and solutions, as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively as part of a high performing team to ensure achievement of outcomes including building, maintaining and fostering good relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and team members.
  • Ability to lead and manage complex projects which have a Council wide focus and impact, within budget, to agreed timelines, and which achieve the stated outcomes and objectives
  • Demonstrated superior communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
