HR Partners by Randstad has an opportunity for a Health Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our client site in Redland Bay. This is a temp role with an immediate start until May 2025 with a potential of extension.

About the role:

The role partners with the stakeholders internally to ensure the delivery of their business objectives through developing and implementing a contemporary Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) system. The position will assist with the implementation and management of the HSW management system as well as HSW initiatives and programmes to improve health, safety and wellbeing.

  • Lead and assist the Safety & Psychosocial Health Team in the development and utilisation of strategic and operational processes, initiatives, and programmes to address and improve HSW risk profiles.
  • Facilitate and advise on the implementation and maintenance of HSW risk management processes, giving attention to critical risks.
  • Investigate and report on incidents and non-conformities indicating failures or absences of HSW risk controls and continuous improvement of the HSW risk management and HSW risk management system.
  • Undertake proactive inspections and audits of work locations and processes to monitor departmental HSW implementation and performance, including the integrity and effectiveness of HSW risk controls to identify actual, potentially failed or absent controls.
  • Evaluate HSW performance data to assist departments to identify trends and implement preventative strategies and to assist the Safety & Psychosocial Health Team to identify areas for improvement in the HSW management system.


About the individual:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary risk management processes, principles and legislation related to HSW and demonstrated skills in providing technical advice and facilitating risk assessment for the management of critical risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and evaluate HSW performance through inspection, audit and investigative processes and to evaluate data in standard and bespoke IT software to provide informative reports on the effectiveness of risk management and HSW management processes to inform HSW improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary HSW systems approach and experience in developing, implementing and maintaining HSW Management Systems including procedures and supporting system documentation to address and improve control of HSW risks.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in supporting significant change and improvement initiatives, including people leaders to develop their leadership to achieve an organisational culture that is focused on HSW.
  • Proven ability to prepare and deliver HSW information, instruction and training to a diverse audience, including workers, supervisors and managers to develop HSW skills and awareness in a large, complex organisation.
  • Tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety (Diploma or Advanced Diploma) with relevant experience; or an equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, professional accreditation and qualification.
